My current body of work aims to highlight the importance and need for human connection, while blurring the lines of what defines gender. It focuses on themes of codependency, specifically the idea of providing a service to another while losing one's identity in the process. While making it, I was considering how people latch onto those who offer acceptance and nurture. It is a service that many can provide to one another. However, people tend to only grow close to a select number of people throughout their lives.

To me, the use of a labor intensive process feels necessary in the production of my work. The meticulous steps that go into the printmaking process contrast with the labor put into our relationships with one another. My hope is for these pieces to transport the viewer to another dimension, where beings are isolated and connection to others is the only thing they have.
